Hwelett-Packerd this week disclosed its first PC in Tablet form. The company has created a new version Palm’s webOS which is the only OS installed in the Tablet. This TouchPad is not only a media tablet; this device can also run some effective applications. HP Touchpad’s screen size is same as iPad and the weight is also same, this can beat apples iPad because of its enhanced connectivity, multitasking capabilities and cloud services.
HP Touchpad will be launched in this summer, this would be more risky for HP because second generation iPad is on release.
HP TouchPad has powerful hardware inside it. This has a 9.7-inch capacitive screen with the screen resolution of 1024×768 pixels and powered by dual core processor with speed of 1.2GHz. The processor is scorpion application processing two cores and has Qualcomm Snapdragon APQ2060 System on chip, for graphics Adereno 220 GPU. The memory of the system is 1GB and Storage memory is 16 GB/32Gb of flash memory. This also has Wi-Fi wireless (802.11 b/g/n), 3G or 4G as option. Touchpad also has Bluetooth and 1.3 MP webcam for video conferencing.
The performance of this touchpad is incredible compared to iPad because; this has APQ 8060 and Adreno 220 GPU. HP touchpad delivers high performance and Multitasking capabilities. TouchPad also offers multimedia applications and games which will be developed and launched in websites. The WebOS 3.0 Operating system can be used for business features, but still HP is working on it and developing Quick office applications where you can edit Office application like Word and Excel. To connect corporate networks, VPN support has been provided. With the HP synergy feature, we can sign in to all social networking sites.
Amazon.com will also launch free kindle application for webOS so that users can access many titles in kindle store. Touchpad is also subscribed to many other popular sites.
HP is trying to integrate TouchPad with other WebOS based phones. This increases the number of uses for webOS application smartphones.
HP has widened its hands in the gadget world by releasing TouchPad, but one problem is that the WebOS is new, not an open platform. So HP should integrate with some open platform that it would become more user friendly.
