How to root: Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini

  • Make a back up of all your internet account settings; because rooting process erases all your previous settings of APN, you can also set up the APN and other settings with the help of your network or service provider.

 

  1. Steps to root Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini using Z4 root tool.

 

* Access the internet through your PC and download the Z4root application to the desktop, the downloaded file is a zip file, just extract the contents from it to a new folder, once you extract you can see a Z4root .13.0.apk file.

* Once you get that .apk file, just copy the same file to your phone by connecting the device to your PC. (A .apk file is nothing but android package file).

* Now in your phone just look for the Z4 root.apk file that you copied just now and open it, this will start installing the Z4 root package to your Xperia X10 mini phone.

* This automatically gets installed and once this is finshed, you can see a Z4 app icon in your phone menu, now tap on that app to open it, which displays a screen with two options, as I told you one is Temporary Root and other is Permanent Root.

* Now make sure that you select the Permanent root option, once you click on it your phone will take few seconds to process the step and finally gets rooted.

While it processes you can see a message at the bottom saying: Running exploit in order to obtain root access…

*Once the Z4 mod root finishes the rooting action, the device is automatically restarted. This is where your phone is successfully gains root access of the system, and to check this you can just have a look through the menu icon, where a new icon is added up called “SUPERUSER” on the screen, an android logo guy similar to skull.

  1. Steps to root Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini using SuperOneClick Tool.

Before you start this process, ensure that you have installed all the drivers for you phone using PC suit.

* Download Superoneclick on to your desktop (it’s a zip filewhich you can extract on your desktop).

Note:    Superoneclick works only on windows based operating systems.

* Connect your Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 mini to your computer via USB cable, Select your android phone to USB debugging mode by going to SETTINGS select APPLICATIONS Then DEVELOPMENT choose USB Debugging option.

* Open SuperOneClick.exe which is extracted on your desktop.
