Signs and Symptoms of Brain Tumor

Brain Tumor symptoms vary from person to person greatly. It is mainly due to two factors namely its size and its location. Al though the size of the tumor does not matter and hence size do not affect the severity of Brain Tumor. The symptoms mainly depend on the part that has got affected.

Headaches: The basic symptom of Brain Tumor is the headache. Since, headache is the sign of other basic health issues, they are misguided with other medications. Headache is not only the symptom of brain tumor but it is accompanied with other symptoms. Frequent occurrence of headaches should not be neglected that too when it occurs if the person sneezes, bends over.

Vomiting: Vomiting, without nausea is one of the major symptoms of brain tumor. This is one of the vague symptoms like headaches. It is good to have a clear check up with your physician, explaining about the occurrence of these symptoms and its triggers.

Personality (Mood Changes): Those with brain tumors often experience mood swings and frustrations. They may experience sudden changes in their behaviors like increased interest in sex, laughing at things that are not humorous, temper tantrums, social decline, paranoia and other possible personality changes.

Seizures: This symptom makes a person to witness body shakes and tremors that could vary in its intensity. They normally stare at things continuously and sometimes there could be loss of consciousness. These seizures are also seen in other medical conditions like strokes, epilepsy hence, sudden medical attention is required to confirm the disease.

Cognitive Decline: Due to the formation of tumors in the brain, patient may suffer from slow functioning of the brain. Report it to your doctor immediately if you find any delay in the completion of the task that is done by the brain. There may be lack of motivation or fatigue. They may also witness loss of memory and few find difficulty in concentrating on studies, on their work, daily routines etc.

Problems in vision and hearing: If the severity of the brain tumor becomes high, then it causes problem in hearing and vision. Patients may experience blurring, sudden flashes and floaters. They may lose hearing capability and they hear ringing nose in their ears.

Physical Changes: A portion of the brain may lose its activity and as a result an individual may experience weakness of complete one side of the body. He or she may lose balance while walking or stumbling.
