InFocus IN1102 definitely seems to be designed for those who are looking for performance and portability. Unlike other projectors demanding a change of setting in the laptop, the IN1100 series set up is just a connection away and starts display instantly. This is made possible by the DisplayLink technology without needing to reset the toggle key functions. The IN1102 bring superior performance even in a bright room despite its small size.
Weighing just 2.75 pounds, IN1102 will easily sit on your palm and will not occupy much space in the briefcase or suitcase while traveling. Other mobile projectors cannot match its performance especially with its reproduction of 2200 lumens and 1800:1 contrast ratio. With that 2200 lumens output, IN1102 can placed among the top models including Optoma EW330. It displays images in WXGA at 1080p resolution. IN1102 was at the top in overall performance displaying sharp/bright texts and graphics. Its performance is equally great either in word/excel or power point document and displayed accurate colors and shades in graphics.
IN1102 is the only model in the series that can be connected to two computers sharing two presentations. This is made possible by the VGA input and the mini USB Display link that comes along. The projector does include a standard VGA cable and a USB cable. The projector can be used with the USB cable also reducing the additional weight while carrying around but DVD playback was a bit choppy. Text and graphics display was perfect when connected through the display link.
Its wide aspect ratio makes it a good choice for showing HDTV also, however it does not support HDMI. What disappoints is the 1W on-board speaker is barely audible. The input panel includes 1 VGA input, 1 USB Display link and as far as standard video is considered, it includes 1 S-Video and 1 Composite video input along with the RS-232 and a stereo 3.5mm audio jack for the on board speaker.
Pricing around $1149, InFocus IN1102 is a good option for both large conference rooms and living rooms.
