Review on Canon Pixma MP560 Wireless Photo all-in-one Printer

Introduction:

Canon has unveiled its new Photo All-in-one Wireless Pixma MP560 inkjet printer which has multiple functions included in it. This printer has been tagged with a price of $150. The performance of this device is average and even better sometimes. The plain text is printed at the rate of 6.4 pages per minute with a 2.6ppm graphics. The speed of scanning is the best in this unit but the speed of copying is average. The texts which are black in color and the copies of it looked little blurry on the plain white paper.

Features & Performance:

The halftones and the line arts on the plain paper looks very detailed. The tones which are flesh appear to be unnaturally pink on the plain white paper which is much improved in the Canon’s photo stock. Better handling of paper is done in MP560 than other contenders who are similarly priced. Duplexing automatically is a standard one. 150 sheets can be loaded in the vertical slot of the printer at the rear and also changes can be made in the media ranging from legal stock to 4 x 6inches snapshot paper.

The drawer which is a front loading one holds up to 150sheets of only letter sized papers. The trays which are present in here bend easily when pressurized which is the only cavil. When the printer is at rest, the black and the silver carcass look lustrous. If this machine is to be used, then doors of this unit have to be opened. To reveal the 2inch LCD color panel and a control panel, then the doors which are at right top have to be flipped up. There is a control wheel which is surrounded by the intuitively labeled keys.

Menu icons on the LCD rotate when this wheel is rotated. In the frontage there is a tiny compartment at the right of the unit where there are 3 slots for the media card and a port for PictBridge which is beneath these 3 ports. There is an optional Bluetooth support for extra money. No Ethernet is available but wireless connections and USB are available. The cost of the inks used in this unit is lesser than average ink price which is pretty affordable by everybody.

This device comes with a 665 page photo black cartridge, a 350 page black cartridge and a magenta, cyan and yellow cartridges with acquiesces ranging from 407 – 505 pages. The bay for cartridge is positioned inside the printer which is underneath the scanner unit. The slots are not at all keyed by color. If the cartridge is slithered accidentally into the incorrect port, then the LED light will flash and an error message is shown on the control panel. The performance is very slow and if this is tolerated then features of this printer can be enjoyed.

Thus, via this machine, things can be copied, faxed and scanned. This is an inkjet color printer with foldable wraps for switches and for easy scroll wheel. There is 2 way feeding of paper up to 8.5 x 14 sizes. Even wireless networking is offered and the resolution of the print is up to 9600 x 2400dpi. SDHC, SD, Memory sticks PRO Duo and Memory Stick memory card capabilities are included with an auto scan mode. The quality of photo is very nice with fast scanning speeds and automatic duplexing and spacious paper trays. The sole hitch is that the speed of printing is mediocre. Leaving this snag, this is a good deal printer.
