If you are looking for the stylish, good looking PC speakers that deliver good sound for their size, then Audioengine 2 PC speakers are the best choice. The Audioengine 2’s sound quality is far better than many of the Apple iPod docking stations at this price range. There is no need of a separate amplifier of receiver; you can use them any of the audio devices. This offers better stereo imaging. The Audioengine 2 speakers are available in Black, Silver, White and bamboo colors. The Audioengine 2 speakers are priced at $199.
The Audioengine 2 has a minimalist and classy look and also it gives substantive feel. The Audioengine 2 PC speakers measures 6 inches tall, 4 inches wide and 5.25 inches deep. These speakers have a 0.75inch silk dome tweeter and 2.75 inch Kevlar woofer. The left speakers are heavier than right speakers as it houses amplifier. They give plenty of oomph while listening to movies, games and music.
Both the 5 and 2 series Audioengine speakers come well packed, with a soft cloth covers over the cables and speakers. The 2 speakers connect to each with real speaker chords and it also has input cable which enables you to connect your computer to the 3.5mm audio input on the rear of the left speaker. The left speaker has a set of white/red RCA inputs to connect to other device like iPod, iPhone, gaming consoles, or even TV.
You can’t toggle among inputs as they are always active. It doesn’t feature remote control and the volume control knob is present at the back of the right speaker that is slightly difficult to access. The power adapter is bit beefy.

The subwoofer provides richer sound and significantly more bass, but the subwoofer is expensive. While incorporating extra accessories relinquishes its sleek look and minimalist effect.
The Audioengine 2 delivers superb sound with tight, deep bass, and offer excellent detail. The sound quality is relatively louder and clearer, even though they are compact in size. The lows and mids are really good and treble refinement is excellent. Audioengine 5 outperforms this Audioengine 2 in few aspects – - the sound quality is better and it also offers a USB port for charging devices like iPhones and iPods, a power outlet for plugging extra audio sources such as Apple Airport Express and an extra 3.5mm audio input.
