Review on 2010 Audi S4

The all new Audi S4 with the thought of increasing its efficiency has opted for the 3 liter DI V6 engine and getting rid of the previous version’s 4.2 liter V8 engine. The result is increased efficiency without losing much power. The new S4 performance is further enhanced by the latest improved Quattro all wheel drive system. Some other eye catching features of the sporty include the 3D Nav System and the audio solutions from Bang & Olufsen.

The Audi S4 gives a muscular look with its latest design. There is lot of difference in its exterior design but some of the notes worthy features are the special aprons, aluminum exterior mirrors, 18-inch alloy wheel and restrained spoiler. Its interior design is also modified. The power seats are designed with leather in combination with Alcantara.

The 3G Multi Media interface along with 3G Map graphics and Sirius traffic displays are the latest and are been installed in Audi S4. The system features voice based destination input control. When you input commands like “I’m hungry,” or “I need gas”, it will point out the closest restaurant and gas station.

The S tronic performs without any interruption in the power flow. The new sport differential sends power to the rear wheel that requires the most. Through the Auto drive, the driver can select between S tronic and sport differential. The Auto drive option will also allow the driver to customize suspension, acceleration and steering. Also depending upon the driver’s preference, it is possible to adjust the transmission, shock absorbers and the engine’s performance. The new Audi S4 coming with the latest tech features ever gets into competition with the lot including BMW 335i and Mercedes Benz C350.

The 3 liter, V6 engine produces 333 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque. Its performance looks to be better than the previous model’s V8 engine as it reaches 0-60 in just 4.9 seconds. The previous generation S4 took 5.3 second to reach that speed. As said, the car performs very well for fuel efficiency with 18 mpg in city and 27 on the highway. The previous V8 model despite slow starting speed was also low in its fuel efficiency with just 13 mpg in city and 20 on the highway.

The new Audi S4 offers a perfect balance between speed and comfort with the S tronic dual clutch transmission. With dual clutches and twin input shafts, it allows the computer for predicting the next gear the driver will select and automatically prepares for it. This is resulted in the reduction of that small speed losing gap. You can now have enormous control of the car even when at tight turns, made possible with the Sport Rear Differential.

The Audi S4 is packed with enough features that are better than its German luxury competitors. Some of them include heated front seats, LED tail lights, 18-inch wheels, carbon fiber interior trim, Bluetooth, Homelink and SIRIUS satellite radio.

The new Audi S4 get top score for performance by offering the speed you want without drinking too much of gas. The adaptive cruise control and blind spot detection are optional but lacks the night vision. The car can be blamed only for its flaw in the input screens of navigation, else everything is fine. Although a best competitor against the BMW M series and Mercedes Benz AMG, we have no other choice than agreeing that it falls short of their performance.
