The Proporta Mizu Shell is for the iPad made of Silicon. The case is made of softer yet more rigid Silicone that it is normally used to be. The Case has a glossy finished at the back but the sad part is it attracts a lot of finger prints.
Fixing the iPad inside the case cannot be simple as the case is very much flexible. Just slide either the top or bottom of the iPad first and then just ease the other side. Removing the iPad is even easier. There is no way your iPad is going to be damaged as the case is made out of nice soft material. Proporta has done a very good job in designing the corners and we are very much impressed with it. There are totally four cut outs: one for the dock connector, speaker, head phone jack and finally for the accelerometer lock switch.
The cut out for the dock connector is plenty enough when synchronizing with cable but sadly it is not enough when docking with the iPad keyboard. Just right to it is the cut out for speaker. At the right side is a cut out for accelerometer lock and just below that is a rubberized jump for the volume control. You need to press a bit harder when accessing the volume. Even the power button is provided with a rubberized jump but is comparatively easier to access than the volume. On the top left extreme is the cut out for head phone jack.
The case offers enough grip despite being softer. The only negative thing about the case is it doesn’t dissipate heat. When working with the iPad for a prolonged period, say 1 or 2 hour, the case becomes warm. We do not say that it will be very hot but a bit warm making a little uncomfortable when using.
Some key features about the Mizu shell are
1. Made from Hard Silicone
2. High class cut outs for controls
3. Toughness despite being soft and flexible.
The case available in three color choices as red, pink and black and as you guess, black color is classy than the other two. The case is available for $40 in US.
