LG may find it difficult to compete with the Apple products but the Korean company is well aware of how to design a budget messaging handset. The manufacturer previously released the Xenon and the WebSlider both of which are affordable landscape sliders. LG now releases the Craze which follows the foot path of these two handsets. In fact, LG is the king in manufacturing the prepaid landscape sliders at present. This handset is especially recommended for kids. These handsets have achieved a lot of support from the young customers. The Craze is also of the same form factor. The handset makes use of the QWERTY keyboard for the input of text. It is equipped with a web browser and some Java applications. The handset also supports video calls. There is a built in media player that supports audio files with the WMA, MP3 and AAC+ formats and video files with the H.264 and MPEG 4 file formats. The messaging menu supports the SMS, MMS, email as well as the instant messaging features.
Design
The Craze measures around 49.9 x 15.3 x 103 mm in dimensions and it weighs around 119 grams. It is definitely not the lightest handset. The display size of the handset is not mentioned. The display is known to be a touch screen one with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels. It is expected to support 256 K colors. The touch screen display allows the dialing of phone numbers and the menu selection just from the capacitive touch screen directly. The other inputs can be handled by the QWERY keyboard that has a well designed joystick. There are four physical keys along with a circular shaped directional pad below the display. The camera lens is housed at the back side of the handset. The handset will be available in a couple of colors such as red and blue respectively.
