Design

The dv6-3013nr has a stylish and fashionalble look with a brushed aluminum texture and a stream design with argento. The same glossy imprint finish that is present on the other Pavilions such as the Pavilion dv6-2150us is now replaced. The dv6-3013nr’s texture and the lid has a subtle and smudge free finish that is semi glossy. It has a boxy pattern which is similar to the one that is used on the Mini 210-1032NR of HP. The chassis’ bottom has a basic black finish and the lid hinges and the edges are made of matte silver texture. The system actually weighs around 2.5 kilograms which makes it to be the second lightest notebook of the 15 inch category. Under the lid, there is a 15.6 inch display with maximum resolution 1366 x 768 pixels. It has an anti glare coating that is glossy. It makes use of the HP’s Bright View technology. It is of the wide screen type too. it does not allow the users to watch the high definition content in the full 1080 pixel resolution.

Keyboard

The fully sized keyboard of the dv6-3013nr experiences some flex on it. However, this is not considered to be mushy. The keyboard is comfortable to touch and the keys are isolated. These keys are quite responsive. The touch pad buttons are also largely sized. The touch pad surface supports the multiple gestures. There no dedicated media buttons or quick launch controls on the keyboard. There is a power switch with white color backlight on the upper left corner above the keyboard.

Ports

The dv6-3013nr has the usual I/O ports around the sides of it. It has a ESB/eSATA combo port, 3 USB ports, an Ethernet socket, headphone jack, HDMI port, VGA port and microphone jack.  it also ha s 5 in 1 media card reader. However, it lacks an Express Card slot.

Performance

The dv6-3013nr is the first among the notebooks to make use of the AMD Vision Premium technology. This includes the updated architecture that makes use of the DDR3 memory and provides increased speeds of Hyper Transport 3. the performance of productivity is decent enough. However this is far from the exceptional level. The battery included in the dv6-3013nr is rated to offer a life of about 3 hours and 45 minutes. This life is quite fair but it is not record shattering. It is a decent performer. It is quite light in weight and is suitable for travelers. Pros – excellent audio quality and integrated media features. Cons – poor screen contrast and limited vertical viewing angles.
