HP iPAQ Glisten Review

The hottest contribution from AT&T is the HP iPAQ Glisten, which is arriving with a QWERTY type of keyboard that is especially designed for the business users and professionals. The business oriented Smartphone includes AMOLED display and also 3.5mm Audio Jack, 3G and WiFi connectivity.

TouchScreen Display

HP iPAQ Glisten comes with an AMOLED gorgeous display which is capable of displaying 256k colors. Its display screen measures 2.5” with a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels which modifies the display smooth and crispy. The display is clear and is bright enough so that one can clearly read in bright sunlight with obstruction free. The touchscreen seems to be bit late responding than in case of capacitive screen. You can even go for some other input methods without making use of the touchscreen.

Design

HP iPAQ Glisten phone’s design is like Blackberry type, with dimensioning 112.8 x 62.8 x 13.4 mm. This model seems to be slightly thick with 13.4 mm and weighs around 132g. The keyboard is very well placed and its arrangement of keys is convenient for typing which is less susceptible to press incorrect keys when user types at higher speeds.

Camera

Normally, the business targeted phones does not come with the camera but HP iPAQ Glisten does come with a 3.15 megapixel resolution camera which has autofocusing capability but with no flash. The camera does not have any sophisticated camera features such as image stabilization and so on.

Connectivity

Typical Connectivity Options like quad band GSM facility is supported which makes it to use all over the globe. 3G coverage on all promising frequencies globally is ensured by its tri band 3G connectivity. Other connectivity options such as Bluetooth 2.0, A2DP support, GPRS, EDGE, and also stereo Bluetooth headsets are supported. GPS and WiFi type of sophisticated connectivity options are also featured in this phone. But, one of the disappointing things is the FM Radio sytem which the phone misses.

Operating System

HP iPAQ Glisten uses Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 OS along with the typical Office package in order to meet most of the professional/business requirements. The OS seems not as spontaneous as iPhone OS nor powerful and strong as the Android OS.

Memory

HP iPAQ Glisten has a memory of 512 MB ROM and 256 MB ROM. One can extend the memory upto 16GB which is sufficient enough to store important files and documents and also videos and favorite musics.

Speed and Price

The phone is very speed while web browsing because of its 7.2 MBps 3G Connectivity. This phone is suitable for the everyday task because of its processor Qualcomm MSM 7200A whose speed is 528 MHz. But the speed seems to become low when it you consider multitasking and unfortunately, this is not the best ever phone available in the market. We do find some other better phones in the market that too are business oriented.

The phone is available with a price tag of $229 with a rebate of $50 and the phone comes along with a two year contract.

Conclusion

Finally, we can conclude by mentioning that the phone is best suited for professionals and businessmen because of its Windows Mobile Interface that provides a homely environment.
