Heartburn symptoms could be described as a burning sensation along with pain in the chest as well as in the stomach region. The symptoms of heartburn include nausea, gas, bloating, shortness of breath, sour taste in the throat and mouth etc.

The hydrochloric acid which is liberated in the stomach, when produced in excess rise up to the esophagus region and this causes Heartburns. This causes irritation in the throat as well as in the upper tract of the digestive system. It is also known as ‘Gastro esophageal reflux disease’ and is caused due to the malfunctioning of the muscles, known as ‘Dyspepsia’.

Esophageal irritations and Heartburn symptoms can be minimized by having Chamomile tea after meals. It relieves the symptoms to a certain extent. Raw potato juice can also relieve the heartburn symptoms effectively.

Having Cold Milk can stop Heartburns immediately. One can have Banana daily, it has ulcer healing elements so that it can work better when it is had along with the cup of milk.

One more natural ways of relieving the heartburn symptoms is by consuming lots of fibers, the fiber content present in the food helps in absorbing the excess acid and gas there by eliminating the extra acid effects that are causing heartburn symptoms.

Drink lots of water. It is recommended to drink at least 8 glasses of water a day since it can eliminate the excess acid and toxins which helps your body to expel acid naturally through urine and sweat.

Green Tea is known to soothe the stomach’s sensitive tissue and it can also relieve you from the sufferings of heartburn symptoms.

Along with these herbal diets, one needs to have healthy food habits like avoiding alcohol and smoking. They mainly contribute in lessening the symptoms of heartburns. Smoking while eating the food cause swallowing of small packets of air into the digestive tract along with the food. As a result, it causes bad impression on the digestive functioning. It slows down the functioning of the digestive tract.

Some will be having a practice of doing exercises soon after a heavy meal is consumed. It should be avoided since it upsets the digestion process and also it causes the food particles to rise up into the upper digestive tract i.e. esophageal region.

Going for a walk before having meals will stimulate the digestive functioning and makes it to work better. Avoid excess drinking of coffee and tea, it causes excess stimulation of acid secreting glands. Prefer smaller foods than heavy meals.

Avoid constipation, because abnormal bowel movements and pressure due to constipation can encourage heartburns. Avoid eating fatty and acidic foods like peppermints, tomatoes, grapes, oranges, fried foods, chocolates etc.
