Display Picasa Web Album Photos in WordPress Blog


Picasa Web Albums are gaining more popularity leaving the Flickr behind. Picasa offers free space and finer features such as face finding and allows desktop syncing of photos. You can also download photos from Flickr and move them to Picasa.

WordPress offers a Plugin that’s pretty useful and helps you add your Picasa album to the sidebar of your Blog. This is an advantage of the WordPress plugins and they can be easily downloaded.

Features of Picasa Widgets

>Displays the last n albums only as text

>Displays the last n albums as thumbnails

>Displays the last n pictures form the last m albums randomly. If the number of albums you have is just one then the pictures form that album will be displayed randomly.

The WordPress plugin can be downloaded and activated. After activation, using the Widgets option you can configure it. The Widget asks you to enter the ‘Widget Title’, your Picasa account username and also the mode in which you wish to display the images. The Widget can be customized to appear as a single column or double column widget in the sidebar.
