ViewSonic has released VP2365wb which is tagged with the price of $350. The brightness is low in this monitor hence hampers the performance of the monitor. The chassis is kind of chintzy and lacks HDMI connection. The colors are accurate and they budge while viewing the monitor from right to left. This has a 23inch; 16:9 monitor screen size. This monitor is black in color with matte finish and is thin which measures around 0.7 inch perimetrically. The black chassis is fragile and void like similar to other monitors in market.

The depth of the panel is 1.1 inch and at the back of the monitor are the connection options, backlight and ventilation systems with extended 1.4 inch, totally rounding off to 2.5 inch depth. The screen has a light Antiglare coating and frosty matte finish. At the back of the monitor the surface is black, smooth, matte plastic with logo of ViewSonic etched on top of it. The foot stand is circular in shape and of 9 inch diameter. The height of the screen is adjusted to its maximum and there is wobbling in the display when the sides are knocked and with a hard hit, the monitor will topple easily.

At fewer heights, this monitor doesn’t wobble or topple. 360 degree swiveling is done by the panel and 20 degree tilting towards back is done. The panel can be mounted on the wall by unscrewing it from stand. To get portrait mode, the panel is pivoted to the left at 90 degrees. USB upstream and downstream ports are provided with the options limited to DVI and VGA for video connections. The display button arrangement for onscreen are present at the bottom of the panel and the buttons are light gray in color which doesn’t include the power button.

The navigation of buttons gives a comfy feeling as there is enough space between them and they are arranged horizontally. 1st button opens up with the OSD and 2nd one opens up with the source select and enter button. Up and down arrow buttons helps in navigating the menus. OSD option includes some of the sub options like contrast, color options and standard brightness. There are four color selections in here i.e., 9300K, 7500K, 6500K and 5000K with that there is also user color option and RGB color option where the color Red, Green and Blue values can be changed individually.

Other options in OSD embrace Dynamic contrast option and memory recall where in the original factory settings are obtained. Three eco- mode options are present on the monitor of ViewSonic. They are Conserve, Standard and Optimize. On selecting these options the brightness level reduces which in turn reduces the consumption of monitor’s energy. To make stay OSD for one minute onscreen, there is a specific option available to set it. This monitor gives 1920 x 1080 pixels full HD native resolutions. Thus, 1080p movies fit in very comfortably in full mode without image stretching.

Some of the main specifications of this monitor are given below: 300cd/m2 brightness, 1000:1 is the contrast ratio, 14ms pixel response rate, there is a HDCP complaint, CCFL back light type, 16:9 is the aspect ratio and E-IPS is the panel type. Now, let’s look into the performance of this monitor. The display is awesome but the vivacity of the color lacked a lot, thus rendering in low brightness. This reduced brightness affects the colors in games and movies, depicting those dull to look at. Colors were accurate on ViewSonic but it missed vivacity. There was no ghosting or input lag when the games were played.

The view angle is optimal usually when you are in front of the monitor. Almost for every monitor the viewing angle is same as it is in ViewSonic. Picture quality at other angles varies a lot. As this monitor is made up of E-IPS, the color shifts are minimal at different angles. The color variation is found when there is a 45 degrees shift to either right or left. If viewed from below, the screen doesn’t black out like TN panels. ViewSonic draw only 40.14 watts power. ViewSonic costs around $12.32 per year to run. This monitor comes with a three year warranty which covers the labor, parts and backlight. There is 24-7 toll free number available for the technical support. There is also a manual provided with the monitor which will be of great help whenever you are in trouble with the monitor.
