Psoriasis is one of the skin conditions where in it causes scaly patches on the skin and gradually it turns red after certain time. Psoriasis is most commonly found in the areas like arms, legs, fingernails, back and even on the scalp. Psoriasis not only causes physical irritation but also causes emotional distress in many because of its distracting appearance on the skin. Essential oils like primrose oil or flaxseed oil can be used to control and to cure the psoriasis skin condition. These essential oils contain required fatty acids and thus treat the variety of skin disorders which includes psoriasis and also it prevents the dryness of the skin.
You need to consume adequate amounts of zinc so that it can act as a metabolizing protein in order to heal such skin eruptions. Add a dry powdered mixture of ginger to the bathing warm water, have a bath with that water so that it helps to reduce the redness of the skin and also it diminishes the appearance of the psoriasis patches on your skin. Instead of bathing in that water, even you can soak your affected part in it for few minutes to get the best results.
A best way to reduce the swelling and the redness of the psoriasis is brushing gently on the scales of the psoriasis affected skin to remove the top scales that has formed on the top layer of the skin with a loofah. Take care that you don’t scrub using it since it causes further irritation of the skin. After doing that, apply an alcohol free goldenseal extract on the afflicted regions that helps to heal up the patches.
Apply an apple cider vinegar on the affected areas, since it is a disinfectant and anti-inflammatory in nature. It helps to treat such bacterial infections. Use sunscreen lotions on the unaffected areas before going out in order to avoid further risks like skin cancer etc.
Buttermilk gives a soothing effect while it is used as a compress on the scalp of psoriasis. Buttermilk can also be used as a part of your diet to lessen the psoriasis effects.
