Toshiba is a well established electronic company. It has unveiled its new laptop which has been labeled as Satellite E105-S1802 (Blue Label) and it is said to be the same replica of Satellite E105-S1602 with only one minor change and one major exemption. The OS of this laptop has been upgraded to Windows 7 from Windows Vista which is a major change and the minor change is that the processor is updated to Core 2 Duo P7450 from P7350. The tagged price of this laptop is $849 where only $50 improvisation has been done. This laptop has a 14.1 inch screen and the battery life is long enough and also for this system you will be having a two year warranty. Other additional benefits include the keyboard which is backlit and the design of the laptop which is box like structure which is unique amongst Satellites from Toshiba. The principal shortcoming of this laptop is that it has awfully scrawny speakers.

Here are some of the specs of this laptop: Intel Core 2 Duo P7450 processor, 4GB memory volume, Windows 7 Premium (Home) OS, 14.1-in display size, 800MHz DDR2 speed, 1280 x 800 resolution, 500 GB HDD and 5400 rpm, microphone and webcam are in-built, Bluetooth is present, HDD recovery and finger print reader is present, touchpad, DVD/CD buttons, mute button, headphone jack, microphone jack, standard stereo speakers, 75W AC Adapter, Li-Ion battery with 5.5hrs battery life, 2.0 two USB ports, memory card reader, HDMI port, Intel GMA 4500 MHD for graphics and some of the software is installed in the laptop. Some of the software is Health monitor, face recognition, ConfigFree, Norton Antivirus, recovery media creator, MS Office professional 2007 all for Toshiba.

The chassis of this laptop is same as that of the previous version Satellite E105-S1602. It is of box shape with silver draped finish which is pleasing and of a subtle pattern with curved lines and pin strips on the deck of the keyboard, cover, touchpad and screen. The keyboard is extremely comfortable to use same as that of a keyboard in ThinkPad. Keys on the keyboard offer a first-class navigation over the backlighting. To the right of the keyboard are the touch sensitive, illuminated media keys. Some of the keys are short and thus gives a clumsy maneuvering over the keyboard especially the Ctrl button to the right base line and space bar. Finish is glossy round the laptop and a matte finish is given to the touchpad, so that you can feel the maneuvering over it. Beneath the touchpad are the two buttons which are wide and flank and it reads the fingerprint. As the screen is glossy, it gives a righteous look to the laptop.

The ugliest thing in this laptop is the weakest speakers. This is weak amongst all laptops which are in market now. When there is maximum volume, you can barely clearly listen to the dialogues. If you have headphones or earphones, you can hear the sound. Thus, the audio quality has to be improved at the max extent. The sole difference between the old processor and the new processor is clock speed difference. P7450 processor runs at 2.13GHz whereas P7350 runs at 2.0GHz. On the whole usage, the battery life showed up to 4hrs 32mins. Virtually most of the laptops are given with one year warranty but Toshiba has made a difference by backing with two years warranty. You can download the drivers or get support by calling to the toll free number which is on the Toshiba’s website.

I bought it yesterday and it has all great features anyone care or need; but my biggest problem is its non-ergonamic design. I have been using other 15 inch laptops, specifically Toshiba satellite and Sony and I can rest my hand and wrist but in this machine it has a sharp edge which is hurting my hand and this will be only reason I may be returning this beautiful machine.
