INTRODUCTION:
Sony Ericsson has introduced the first ever Android Smartphone called the XPERIA 10. With the introduction of this model, Sony Ericsson has gone to the top rankings in a matter of seconds. It has been called the X3 in short, during its design stages. The X10 has a wide range of devices manufactured by various users of vast experience in competition with it.
The outstanding features of this Sony Ericsson model are: GSM 850-1900MHz, UMTS 900-2100MHz, HSDPA, HSUPA etc. It has a TFT capacitive Touchscreen display which has to be delicately handled and a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels. The platform used is Qualcomm Snapdragon with a processor speed of 1GHz and the operating system used is Android 1.6.
This Smartphone has a capacity of 1GB memory storage, RAM of 256MB, a microSD card slot and a free memory card of 8GB.The camera is a 8 Mega pixel camera with Auto-focus mode and has a LED flash. It also has a special feature of face detection. The connectivity features are Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP, 3.5mm audio jack, Wi-Fi, a standard micro USB port and a GPS receiver with A-GPS system.
DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION:
The XPERIA X10 handset has a 4” display and is still compact which is rarely seen. Since the phone has its edges slightly curved, it appears to be very sleek and when handheld, seems to be a slim Smartphone. This Smartphone is extremely light that it seems to be plastic. This soft and delicate phone will definitely enthrall the youngsters and make them crazy to buy this phone.
This Smartphone stands Second with its marvelous resolution. This phone, as every other smartphone, has its 8 Mega pixel camera located at the back. The lens is accompanied by a tiny LED flash. The micro USB port, an audio jack of 3.5mm and a large On/Off key is present at the top of the phone. Web browsing will prove to be lots of fun since there are plenty of websites that will match with the resolution of this Smartphone.
CONCLUSION:
The operating system Android 1.6 coded as the ‘Donut’ is user-friendly and is used to run the Smartphone. Unfortunately, the Android 1.6 does not make use of features like pinch zooming in the gallery and the web browser. Applications such as the Timescape gathers all your communications to one place. By pressing the Timescape icon on your home-screen, the user-interface (application) is activated. It displays a consolidated view of your emails, SMS, inbox, MMS, Facebook and Twitter updates, all of these on your screen.
To have a content preview, you need to press on the tile for a longer time. Having done that, a view of Timescape filtered by contacts or event types is seen. Like Timescape, there is an application called the Mediascape which collects all your media. Features like Video, Photos and Music have their own private screens divided into two parts- local and online. Sony Ericsson confidently confides in its users that this Smartphone includes all the unique features present in the Cyber-shot camera phone, much more than the Touch focus and the Face detection features.
Finally, this model has all the amazing features that any youngster would aspire for. Conclusively, this model can be termed as one of the Best Smartphones available in the market. Sadly, for all you folks who thought of buying this model right now, you have to wait till the month of February.

First time to see Sony-ericcson all “balls-deep” on a new smartphone in particular an android phone. We agree, that Xperia has a bitter history on older models. Hopefully, this X10 release will turned out to be a happy-ending. But still, this phone has a far way to go on competing the iPhone kind or the Killer-Droid
