Shoe thrown at Union Home Minister Mr. P. Chidambaram

In today’s scenario where the top leaders are being targeted by the civilians all over the world then why should India lag behind? Today one of the top leaders of the country was stunned by one of the press reporter and the shoe again was the medium of showing disrespect and indecent behavior here.

Today the Union Home Minister of India, Mr. P. Chidambaram was targeted by a journalist named Jarnail Singh from Dainik Jagran. Jarnail Singh hurled a shoe at Mr. P. Chidambaram during a briefing at the Congress office in New Delhi today.

Jarnail Singh questioned the minister about the clean chit given to one of the prime accused of 1984 riots, Mr. Jagdish Tytler, where the minister responded by saying that CBI worked freely to investigate in the case without coming under the pressure of either the Home Ministry or any other government.

Jarnail Singh stressed on the matter through his questions upon which the minister refused to entertain any more arguments. At this point Singh hurled his shoe at the minister.

The journalist was immediately taken into custody by the security personnel. Singh apologized for his mistake but told the media that he misbehaved for the right cause.

Mr. Chidambaram later forgave Singh for the indecent behavior and he was released by the security.

This is the third incident after two big leaders, former President of America, Mr. Bush and Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao, were targeted by the press reporters earlier.
