Have you forgotten your LinkSys wireless router password or you need to reset the password? Here is the procedure which guides you completely via step by step in resetting your router password.
1) One of the easiest methods of resetting the LinkSys router password is by resetting it to its default settings.
In order to restore the router configuration to its factory default settings, you need to just press the “Reset” button for about 30 minutes.
2) Soon after you come to know that your router is reset, then login to your router and do the reconfiguration again.
For reconfiguring your LinkSys router, you need to connect your computer to any of the Ethernet ports, then open any web browser (preferably, Internet Explorer) and type “192.168.1.1” (without quotes) in the Address Bar. As soon as you hit Enter, it will ask for your user name and the password. Just enter the correct user name and the password and click on Login button.
NOTE: On the older versions of LinSys Routers, username will be blank by default and password will be “admin”. On newer versions of LinkSys Routers, the username and the password both will be “admin” by default.
Now, change the admin password from the Management tab so that you can avoid accessing of your router by others. Set in the unique password.
3) Once you complete the resetting of the password process, enable the WAP or WEP security key so that others can be prevented from accessing your wireless network.
