Laser hair removal therapy comprises of the laser beam that is used to kill the follicles of the hair thus eliminating the hair growth in the particular section of the body. The above technique works out best especially for black and brown skin type since the dark pigments in such types of hair are found out to absorb the laser beam greatly than any other hair types. This type of hair removal technique is used to eliminate the hair growth in the certain regions like underarms, legs, facial hairs and backs etc. Even though laser hair removal method comes with so many advantages still it has its own side effects like tissue burns, scarring and lesions on the skin.

Since this laser hair removal technique depends on the type and color of the hair, it seems to be less effective on the light shaded hairs such as light brown, red, blonde, white and gray color hairs. It can ideally work on only black and brown hairs. And hence the dark skin is at the higher risks of absorbing majority of the laser energy.

Laser hair removal is actually used for the permanent hair loss but many of them who have undergone the laser hair loss treatment have experienced the re-growth of the hair in the treated area, this is due to the fact that some of the sections of the hair may get affected by the laser beam treatment which leads to the re-growth of the hair that at a faster rate than you expect.

Laser hair removal treatments may also lead to hyper-pigmentation in the dark skinned people. The dark skinned people who under went the laser hair removal treatments experienced dark patches on the treated area due to the excess production of the melanin. This effect is temporarily and even can be reversed.

Unlike hyper-pigmentation, laser hair removal treatment may also lead to hypo-pigmentation. The laser beam when falls on the hair follicles can either increase or fully stop the melanin production that leads to hypo-pigmentation. But, it is found out to be irreversible process which is a major side effect of the laser beam treatment.

If your skin is a sensitive skin then the laser hair loss treatment can cause stinging sensation when the laser beam hits the hair follicles, sometimes a local anesthesia is given to those who undergo laser hair removal treatment in order to numb the treated area.

Some may experience swelling, crusting, blistering and redness in the treated area after the laser hair removal treatment has undergone. It may be temporary but still it is uncomfortable for many. It is essential to keep the treated area cool for the first two days after the treatment done and must avoid the scrubbing the region for few weeks following the treatment.

The total cost of the laser hair removal treatment depends on the sessions that are required to remove the hairs completely. The number of sessions varies from individuals to individuals. Hence, we can say the laser hair removal treatment is bit costly when compared to other types of hair removal treatments.

With any procedure there are problems. Just choose the person who does the treatment wisely and you should be ok.
