Prevent Heart Disease in Women

Most of the women believe that the reason for the leading cause of death in women is due to breast cancer. But the fact is the majority of the women death is due to some form of the Heart problems. Research shows that in US, the total number of deaths due to heart disease is more when compared to the deaths caused due to all types of cancer. But the only good side of heart disease is it can be completely curable. Hence, its Prevention is necessary and here are few measures which need to be followed in order to prevent heart disease in women.

1) As all of us know, Smoking is injurious to health. A Cardiologist says that Smoking is the major cause of heart attacks and other heart related diseases which includes hypertension, blood pressure etc. Nicotine which is present in cigarettes increases the heart beat count, it narrows the blood vessels, and the carbon monoxide present in it replaces the oxygen content in the blood.

Use of tobacco based products also increases the chances of risk of heart attacks. Tobacco products contain 4800 harmful chemicals which damages the heart and blood vessels. It also causes widening of arteries resulting in heart attacks. Hence, use of cigarettes, tobacco products should be avoided.

2) Physical activity for a healthy life is a must. You need to spend atleast 30 minutes in a day either for walking or doing exercises or other aerobic activities. You can achieve bigger benefits of health with the increase in the frequency and time of the physical activity. It may also include gardening, housekeeping, taking the stairs etc.

3) Healthy diet helps to maintain a healthy weight of an individual. Our daily diet decides one’s health texture. Our daily diet must include fresh vegetables, fruits, meats, whole grains, dals etc. All these constituents are required for the prevention of heart disease.

Avoiding some of the lipid foods which are rich in fats like bakery products, beef, coconut oil, cheese etc is essential. Omega 3 fatty acids can bring you back the heart beat count, also reduces the risk of heart attacks. Some fishes are the good sources of omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 fatty acid is also present in soyabean oil, wall nut oil, canola oil and other food supplements.

4) One must avoid the use of alcoholic beverages. These steps not only prevents the heart disease but also lessens the risk of stroke, obesity, build-up of high cholesterol in the body, diabetes, high blood pressure and all types of cancer.
