Palm Pixi Review
Palm unveiled Pixi, a smart phone based on web operating system. The inexpensive Pixi is mostly targeted upon younger consumers as it offers a radical design and improved functionality. Being at a lower level in the pricing department the Pixi seems to lure Smartphone newbie making it an alluring option for gadget geeks.
Design and Display:
The Pixi is ergonomically similar to the Palm Treo. It sports a sleek design with a glossy finish in the front fascia while the rear panel features a smooth finished surface. It is equipped with Thin Film Transistor capacitive (tactile) touch screen display supporting 256K colors and embedded with 320×400 pixels. The Pixi is also coupled with QWERTY keyboard and an accelerometer sensor (enables browsing of portrait and landscape mode).It is available in black color.
It sports a 2 Mega Pixel camera of 1600×1200 pixels it is equipped with flash and video recording option is possible. Armed with Qualcomm MSM7627 600 MHz processor, dedicated graphics accelerator the Pixi features Palm web operating system.
The Pixi supports second generation GSM and Third Generation HSDPA.Various modes of data transfer include GPRS, EDGE, Bluetooth and USB.
