Nokia to launch N97 mini Smartphone by mid October in India

Nokia, the Finnish mobile giant, will be launching its Smartphone N97 mini by mid October in India.

This move is to boost the sales as the launch period of the Smartphone coincides with the biggest Indian festival Diwali.

Nokia unveiled three Smartphone Nokia N97 mini, Nokia X6 and Nokia X3 at the Nokia World event in Germany held recently.

Nokia India MD Mr. D. Shivakumar said that the other two music editions will be available in India by Quarter 4 of 2009-10, N97 mini will be launched in India by mid October.

This will surely boost the new product sales due to the festive mood of the people where they tend to buy new items during this season.

Critics claim that Nokia has not performed up to the mark in the Smartphone segment and has incurred losses but Mr. Shivkumar has condemned this and has said that their performance is beyond their expectations.

Nokia has sold out nearly two million units of N97 within short span of time of its launch. It has around 40 percent of global market share and a leader in the Indian market.

N97 mini is priced at Rs. 31 000.

Diwali is the season where and Indian consumer spends highly on products compared to the other feativals.
