Nokia to launch its first Notebook named Booklet 3G – Review
The Finnish cellphone giant Nokia, is all set to launch its first mini laptop or Notebook named Booklet 3G in the market. It will be unveiled tomorrow i.e. 2nd September, 2009 in the Indian market.
Nokia is a rockstar in the cellphone genre in the Indian market and has millions of satisfied customers all over world. It is planning to rock the Indian tech market via its latest and anticipated Booklet 3G Notebook.
We all know that laptop and notebook market is already run by giants like Acer, Asus and Dell. So it will be quite a tough job for Nokia to carve out its market share. But by looking at its track record in the cellphone market we can count on Nokia for quality in its latest product.
Let’s have a look at it.
First look:
It’s only 2 cm thin, weighs 1.25 kg and sports a 10.1″ glass High Definition (HD) display. One of its striking features is aluminium chassis that gives it a rocking look. Apart from this it has full sized Shift keys.
Features:
Nokia’s first Notebook will have an integrated Bluetooth and SD card reader, an HDMI port for HD video output and a front camera.
Now comes the interesting part. It contains pre-installed onboard GPS chip and Ovi Maps. Apart from this it has a swappable SIM card slot which will enable the user to make call. Wow!
It is powered by Inter Atom processor with 1.6GHz Atom Z530 CPU and a 120GB HDD and has 12 hours battery life. It is expected that it will come with Windows 7 starter edition.
It will have 1280×720 pixels on the screen for better resolution and HD display. Note that its counterparts like Acer have 1024×600 pixels screen. So a plus point over the competitors.
Connectivity:
It will support 3G/HSPA, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi.
Price:
It s speculated that it will range from between Rs 27,000 to Rs 38,000. So a quite high price as compared to other Notebooks in the market which start from Rs. 16,000.
It is worth noticing that Nokia has seen drop in profits in the cellphone market in last few quarters due to economic gloom. Let’s see if Booklet 3G can lead the way.
