Microsoft And NASA Bring Universe to Web
Microsoft’s Worldwide telescope is the new feather in their hat. Microsoft & NASA have new partnership to bring down the images &data of Moon & Mars. The NASA content is now available on your computer thanks to this
partnership.
The WWT would host about 100 terrabytes of data processed by NASA’s Ames Research Center in California. The images would be based on the data from NASA’s Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) and Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter (LRO). Ames research center is developing a suite that would host of details of convert historic and current space data.
According to Microsoft this new feature would revolutionize the way we see the universe. During MIX 09 Microsoft already announced the web-based version of Worldwide Telescope which also gave away the details of how it would function.
