How to surf in internet anonymously?

• When you log into internet, your geographical location, information about your computer and even the websites that you visit, will all be shared. If you don’t want internet to know about your own self, then you can surf in the internet as an anonymous person. This option is made available for people who don’t want to show up. Thus, the main intention of surfing the web anonymously is to skirt the technologies that trail your online bustle and which may potentially render your private information to others. Nobody can know where you are connected from, who you are or which all websites you are visiting, when you are surfing anonymously.

• There might be many reasons why one does like surfing anonymously. The person might not like exposing himself/herself because that some might threaten them and so on. • Proxy is one of the easiest means to veil your PC, and thus conceals you on web. Rest of the web will be segregated from me only if proxies are present which act as a computer. You can surf the web through proxy to any other web servers and they might in fact think that you are linking from the proxy workstation. The more proxies, better safe you are. Ex. If you have 8 proxies, then it will make you efficiently imperceptible to all. Given below are the proxy set up for Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer.

Proxy set up for Microsoft Internet explorer:

First find a proxy host. Search in Google for ‘proxy list’ and from there you can choose one which is named anonymous.

Open the Internet explorer and go to “Tools”, next “Internet options.”

Click on “Connections” tab and then on “LAN settings.”

Now locate the proxy servers and click on “use a proxy server for your LAN” in the box.

IP address should be copied from the proxy list that you found and finally paste into the address box.

Paste ‘port number’ copied from proxy list into “Port” box.

Click “OK” and again once again “OK.”

Proxy set up for Mozilla Firefox:

Follow the first step as it is in the instruction for Internet explorer.

Open Firefox and go to ‘Tools’, then click on “Options.”

Click on the button “Connection settings” which is under the “General” menu. (you should go to “Advanced” menu in v.2)

Click on “Manual proxy configuration” button.

Steps 5 and 6 should be followed as it is in Internet Explorer.

Click “OK” and again click “OK.”

ProxyTex plug-in can be used for Firefox alternatively which can be found on Proxytex Homepage.

• As some proxies are loaded each and every minute, proxies which are no longer in use will be removed. If you need a new proxy, you need to go back to Tools > Internet options and undo the settings of proxy. If you want to make sure that you are logged into proxy setup, then you should go to IP Finding which will show your logged in IP address as proxy IP address and from which country you are accessing internet, thus confirming that you are using proxy IP. I would like to tell you that not all proxies in the proxy list will be working. If you get a proxy configuration error, then it is definitely a proxy which is not working. While downloading files through proxies, it will be slow as it has to transfer files to your computer from proxy address. It’s been declared by the US Computer Fraud & Abuse Act and the EU Cyber crime convention (2001) that using an open proxy is a crime and also an abuse act. These sorts of proxies are equivalent to hacking. So beware before you start using an open proxy.
