It is one of the biggest concerns of the diabetics who are prescribed with some of the oral medications and insulin. Hypoglycemia can be serious if it is untreated and sometimes leads to death of a person. Listed is some information regarding how to prevent such conditions even in the use of insulin and such other diabetic medications.

First and the foremost thing is you need to identify the symptoms of the condition which are very rapid occurring in nature. Some of the symptoms of the hypoglycemia are dizziness, sweating, palpitations, nervousness and shakiness. If it is not treated with a proper care, the blood sugar level can even drop to lower levels causing the death of a person. The treatment becomes very critical resulting in the coma, loss of consciousness sometimes. This is why it is necessary to identify the symptoms at the early stages; one can carry the glucose solution with them in order to avoid such situations, because glucose solution can quickly bring up the blood sugar levels to a certain high level.

Don’t skip your meals; try to include 5 to 6 small meals through out the day rather than having heavy ones. Make sure that you include a very small amount of protein and low carb foods to avoid rapid fluctuations in the blood sugar levels.

Exercising keeps your body in a balanced state, it is important to reduce the insulin amount or to raise the carbohydrate amount that you take before and after the exercises if you do them vigorously. The amount varies and depends on how long you do them and may require experimentation at the initial stages.

Coffee and alcohol are found out be the most dangerous things that can cause serious conditions with the blood sugar levels; avoid them as much as possible since they increases the risk of hypoglycemia. Cigarette smoking is also very dangerous since the nicotine present in the cigarettes tend to have a bad effect on the blood sugar levels. The nicotine also damages the blood vessels thereby increases the risk of diabetic complications.
