Heart Valve Recovery

Normally, Heart valves control and regulate the blood flow from and to the heart chambers and the muscles. When these valves start to malfunction, the entire blood circulation process upsets. Thus heart valve recovery is of the utmost important thing, one need to take more precautions and care during the heart valve recovery time.

Basically, there are four valves guarding the heart chambers namely mitral and aorta valves. These are responsible for allowing the blood flow outside the heart and also into the inner muscles of the heart.

Severe valve disorders demands valve replacement surgeries. Even though medication like valve replacement surgeries can cure the valve problems but along with that, proper care and maintenance is essential to recover back to the normal position. A patient with a valve replacement needs to be under intensive care for at least two three days after the surgery and he can continue with his work only after two months of complete bed rest.

Patients who are diagnosed with the replacement of mechanical valves, they are likely to be taken blood thinning medications in order to remind their lives. One more alternative option for replacement of valves is tissue based replacement valves. It is often inserted, removing the older one with an interval of 10 to 15 years.

Diet prescribed for the people who have undergone valve replacements will be the same as for the people with cardiovascular diseases. Mainly their diet must be devoid of high fats, cholesterol and sodium intake is more important for those suffering from heart related disorders.

Artificial valves include the organic and the mechanical valves. Mechanical ones are made up of metals or plastics where as the organic valves are made up of animal or donated human tissue and it need not be replaced after years.
