drigg

Detailed Description:

Installing Drupal this way is a little easier. It’s basically a Drupal installation where every single step described in the “manual way” has already been carried out.
Step 1: Install Drupal

Please follow the instructions in the next section “Drigg – the manual way” – but only Step 1, and using Drigg Drupal rather than the official Drupal package.

Please remember to change the file [your_drupal_dir]/sites/default/settings.php($db_url = ‘mysqli://user:pass@localhost/dbname’;) so that it contains your database information. Also keep in mind to follow the instructions so that you can enable “Clean URLs”. Drigg will only ever work with “CLean URLs” active!
Step 2: Load information into your database

Now, load the database dump [your_drupal_dir]/sql_restore/drigg6.sql into your Drupal database. You can do this from the command line by typing (assuming that the database name is drigg_db):

cat drigg_distr_sql.mysql | mysql drigg_db

Important note: the main user’s name is “admin”, the password is “itechalk”. You NEED to change this as soon as you log in.

Step 3: Customise it!

At this point, you will want to change some of the information that comes “in stock” with this prepackaged version:

* Username, email addresses and passwords for the users “admin” and “admin user”. Go to Administer -> User Management -> Users
* The “site’s” email address. Go to Administer -> Site Configuration -> Site information

Step 4: That’s it!

Thank you, I could install it the way you mentioned. I would appreciate if you could guide how to actually do digg style posting…

    - the submission in two stages
    - the first to display if the user wants to publish news, video, image … (i guess it can be a taxonomy type???)
    - the second stage is what we really have it here.

    regards,

warning: call_user_func_array() [function.call-user-func-array]: First argument is expected to be a valid callback, ‘node_admin_content’ was given in /xxxx/yyyy/public_html/includes/form.inc on line 366.

when administering the content and post settings

Any help would be much appreciated

    Thanks

    Sir

How to use this with Drupal l6.12 ?
Will replacing 6.10 core files with 6.12 do the trick
    keeping the database dump intact?

  • ronia wrote on 13 June, 2009, 10:33

Nothing is added to the UPCOMING list.
Everything goes straightway to the published list.
    Please help.

I did a fresh install of the version in this blog post. The problem is that the categories seem to be missing. I can’t add categories in the admin panel. Anyone else having this problem?
I also got some errors when I tried to import the sql dump file in the package using PHPMyAdmin. Anyone else having this problem?

    Please help!

Why the bleeping h don’t you use an install profile rather than go through this ridiculous rigamarole? Install profiles are the correct way to distribute something like this.

There is no drigg_distr_sql.mysql or any similar named file I could find in the distribution.

There is a file named mysql_dump.txt which seems to set up a site… but… the ‘admin’ account password is not itechalk. Meaning I can’t get into the userid#1 account.
