RIM along with AT&T announces BlackBerry 9700 Onyx, housing the combined features of 9000 and 8900. The special feature that thrills the BlackBerry fans is the larger Screen and a well spaced keyboard than the previous Bold. The new Bold 9700 comes with a pre-installed Blackberry 5.0 OS on the device.
The Blackberry model has a 2.44 inch Display screen with a resolution of 480 x 360 pixel. It also houses a QWERTY Keyboard and a Fast processor of 624MHZ speed. A high resolution Camera of 3.2 mega pixel, GPS, 802.11b Wi-Fi, Bluetooth connectivity are some of the attractive features in the phone.
Bold 9700 is capable of handling Quad-band network and includes a microSD card slot for the purpose of connecting external memory device. Music player can support MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, AMR formats. The model witnesses 3.5mm headphone jack with Stereo Bluetooth, internal memory of 256MB ROM and a pre-installed TeleNav GPS Navigator.
Micro USB with an open port on the sides are provided for charging and pc connecting purposes. Bold also supports both Visual Voice mail as well as corporate email. Google maps can be accessed very quickly. Basic features such as Calendar, alarm, speaker phone, recording facility, notes and calculator can be customized by the users through settings.
Bold 9700 has a Li-Ion Battery having a life time of 6 hours talk time and 19 days of standby time. The model is going to hit the market in the early November of this year.
