Acer to launch Android phones

Acer ranks as the world’s number third vendor for total PCs and number second for notebooks.
Acer is setting up to launch Google’s Android OS handsets in India by December 2009. It has entered Indian market to introduce reasonably priced Android handsets most likely touchscreen phones and proffers to synchronize data, images and files linking PCs and mobile phones. It has also planned to introduce more Android mobile handsets by next year.
Acer Company has introduced eight mobile phone devices that run on Microsoft Windows platform. To enhance the growth of the company it is using Google’s mobile OS to build up custom-made mobile apps.
Acer has disclosed that Windows supporting handsets starts at Rs11,999 in Acer Touch series and it is engaged with Tata DoCoMo a network operator to vend Acer’s mobile phones costs about Rs 34,000 and it also proffers to customers to download 500 MB data free for first six months.
The Acer Company is focusing on mobile handsets with pricing around Rs 10,000–20,000 to expand its business.
