GRE: Graduate Record Examination
It is particular test needed for getting admissions in many graduate schools based in Unites states and also in other English speaking countries. Created and administered by the ETS (educational testing service).The test is focused on testing the thinking skills on vocabulary, analytical writing and math’s.
The exam consists of four sections:
1st section is writing section, while remaining three are objective types. Objective type exams will test verbal skills, another quantitative skills and the last one will be experimental section which is not included in the score. Exam takers won’t know which of three objective sections the experimental section is.
Analytical writing section:
The analytical writing section contains two different essays, an “issue task” and an “argument task”. There is a 0-6 scale for this section with half point increment. The essays are typed in a computer using a word processing program specially designed by the ETS. Program doest not have spell checker and grammar checker it is having only a basic functions
Issue task:
The exam taker have an option to select between this two topics on which to write an essay. The time allotted for this essay is 45 minutes.
Argument task:
Time allotted for this is 40 minutes
